ABOUT US
THE FOOD BANK
One of our goals at JCS is to make sure that there are as few hungry people in our community as possible.
The urgent need to ensure all members of the community enjoy a nourishing meal daily, inspired the establishment of the JCS Foodbank in 2016.
Using the resources available to us at the time, we established our Foodbank initiative and we continue to provide many families with food parcels made of dry groceries as they need.
Nothing makes us happier than being able to provide families with the ingredients for a meal, a shabbas meal for example, that without us they would not have been able to have.
Thanks to Highlands House and the help from the community, we have managed to upscale our Foodbank hugely – all in less than a year!
We are now able to provide a full supply of dry and frozen groceries, ensuring that we never run out of stock. These groceries not only get sent out in pre-packaged parcels to our clients, but are also available on our premises for clients to come and shop for free from.
