Being able to provide your family with a roof over their heads, a cosy bed to sleep in and a warm plate of food is imperative to everyone. However the current economic situation does not allow many people the opportunity to do so. At JCS we have seen an alarming increase in the number of people seeking assistance to enable them to provide for these basic needs.

This urgent need to help our clients enjoy a nourishing meal daily inspired the establishment of the JCS FoodBank in 2016. Using what resources we had available to us, we established our FoodBank initiative and provided many families food parcels as they needed. We however could not have done so without the kind and caring assistance of the community. We asked and the community reciprocated, helping us to grow and expand our Foodbank.

Today, less than a year after introducing the FoodBank, we are proud to announce that we have moved from having our FoodBank housed in a single cupboard at our offices to having occupied two custom fitted rooms, graciously provided to us by Highlands House for this purpose.  We are now able to fully stock our FoodBank, with enough space for storage and ensuring that we never run out of stock.
