We are a non-profit, Jewish welfare organisation offering a full range of services to people across all age groups within our community.
As we are non-profit, we rely financially on an annual allocation from UJC (United Jewish Campaign), as well as a small government subsidy. These combined make up a small percentage of the annual budget we need, meaning we rely largely on private donations to support our infrastructure, clients and various initiatives.
Our ability to help community members is directly in line with the budget we have to work with. This means the larger the donations, the more people’s lives we can change.
All our services are provided by a team of social workers, social work assistants and a small administrative team.
To develop, implement and coordinate social protection and poverty reduction solutions for, and with, the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged in the Cape Town Jewish community. To provide quality social welfare services to enable them to meet life’s challenges.
The vision of Jewish Community Services is to be recognised as the leading provider of innovative services and programs that address existing and emerging social service needs. To provide a full spectrum of services that promotes quality of life within the context of Jewish ethics and values. Together we can build a caring, self-sufficient community with dignity, harmony and happiness.
